The boy Mundi grew up on Ingjaldssandur some years ago. Ingjaldssandur is a valley in the West fiords. High mountains surround the valley and it opens to the North Atlantic. The winters are long, dark and often windy but the summer days are bright and sunny around the clock.
There have been people living in Ingjaldssandur since around the year 900.
Mundi’s days were filled with work and play and I believe some of his days were quite different from your daily life. You have e.g. probably not sailed on an iceberg or stood face to face with an angry bull like Mundi did.
When mundi was living in America as a grown man he began to tell his wife, Bryndís who was a teacher in Boston what life was like when he was a boy in the West-fiords. She wrote the stories as he told them for you to enjoy.
Hopefully you will one day visit Iceland!
